Paid and Free Parking

Paid parking in public lots is enforced in Carolina Beach March 1 through Oct. 31 between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. and Nov. 1 through Dec. 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Standard parking rates vary by location and range from $2 to $7 per hour.

On-street parking is another option, with rates set at $5 per hour, including two-hour parking spaces.

Parking is free Jan. 1 through Feb. 28. Additionally, all designated handicapped parking spaces are free, provided the vehicle displays a valid handicap parking placard. 

Places to Park

Carolina Beach offers a variety of public parking lots conveniently located near popular attractions, beach access points and the marina. Parking is available at the North Pier Lot (22 spaces) at the Carolina Beach Pier or a few blocks down in the Canal Lot (30 spaces). The Sand Piper Lot, located between Canal Drive and Carolina Beach Avenue North, provides 32 spaces and includes restroom and beach shower facilities, though parking is not allowed after 9 p.m.

To park near the Carolina Beach Boardwalk or the marina, the Harbor Master Lot (84 spaces) and the Fisherman Lot (72 spaces) offer ample parking, while the Weeks Lot includes 22 spaces, with two designated for oversized vehicles. Additional parking can be found at the Marina Lot (31 spaces), Town Hall Lot (66 spaces) and Palms Lot (56 spaces), all conveniently located along Canal Drive.

For beachgoers, the Hamlet Lot (36 spaces), Shell Lot (50 spaces) and Alabama Lot (45 spaces) provide easy beach access, along with restroom and shower facilities. The Hewett Lot, with 17 spaces, offers additional parking along Carolina Beach Avenue South.
 

Long-Term Parking

Several public parking lots in Carolina Beach offer daily rates. During peak season (March through October), general parking lots cost $25 per day, while premium lots are $35 per day. From November through December, the daily rate drops to $10.

Weekly parking permits are available for $100 and can be purchased at Town Hall or online for those planning a longer stay. Town-operated parking lots are marked with signs that read “Town Passes Accepted.”
